Few notes:
-The first boss seems like a high difficulty spike every time I encounter it. I eventually got past it a few times but it seems weird to have it kill you in 2 hits if it's the first boss.
-Variable damage from different attacks/bullets is a bit weird, since there doesn't seem to any visual indication of how much damage a bullet will do? Like small bullets from the boss seem to do just as much as the big bullets.
-Regarding bullet damage, it feels a bit cheap how enemy damage just continues to scale up and up, kind of makes defense and HP upgrades feel pointless since the game devolves into a 1-hit kill game no matter what you do.
-One minor gripe I had when taking damage sometimes is it felt weird to see your health go negative when you died sometimes? Feels like it should just drop to 0 instead of going -1 or whatnot.
-Also in regards to dungeon traversal, it seemed a bit weird how which direction you chose to go didn't really have any impact on the game? Kind of makes you wonder why you can choose in the first place (I eventually always chose left/right since you were less likely to spawn near enemies then).
-It'd be nice if the shops in the hub area gave you some kind of description of what exactly you were buying. I'm still not sure what the medals do, and the gun stat differences have to be manually checked in the pause menu.
-One thing I think the game was lacking as far as roguelikes go is decisions to be made while you're playing it? Like you can choose what path to take but it's not like it matters, it's just a certain number of rooms until you hit a boss (and you can't backtrack to safe/cleared rooms either). Other than the upgrades there isn't really much decisions to make (and with damage scaling working the way it does, the defense and hp upgrades are kind of useless). So that kind of hurt the replayability for me since it makes runs feel the same pretty quickly. Makes it feel more arcade-y, which isn't bad but feels like it misses the mark as a roguelike.
Overall not bad but definitely could use a lot of polish in areas still.
Also bees keep spawning in after you die if there's a hive on the screen and this happened: https://i.imgur.com/KTbphND.png
